Midfielder Yuuki Shimada has signed to join Mito for the 2009 season. He is currently playing for Komazawa University in Tokyo. He plays as a forward in college but has signed to play in the midfield position for Mito.
His comment: 「名前を覚えてもらえるよう活躍したいと思うので応援よろしくお願いします。」 ("I'll try hard to be recognized through my actions and I ask for your support.")
