Checking Mito's professional record, I found that this just completed second round is one of the best in the team's history. The best is the first round of the 2003 season, winning 5, losing 3, and drawing 2.
2008's second round is actually only the second one in history with a winning record. Facing all other teams, Mito scored 7 wins, suffered 6 losses, and had one draw. This upswing can be attributed to the new strategies of coach Kiyama and the sudden scoring streak of forward Arata. It also happens to coincide exactly with the arrival of midfielder Chu-Ho Park.
