Emperor's Cup Match Announced

This year's Emperor's Cup brackets have been announced, and Mito will play against Fukuoka in the first match in October. It's somewhat unfortunate that this year, the number of teams works out that the top JFL team and bottom three J2 teams play their first round against each other instead of prefectural representatives. Although not in that position now, Mito was lower on the table when the seedings were determined.

If Mito can defeat Fukuoka, the next match would be against Kyoto, and when looking at potential possible J1 matchups, Kyoto perhaps would mean one of the best chances at making it to round five for the first time.
