I took my first drive to Horihara Sports Park just north of Mito and Akatsuka stations to see Mito's Under-18 team take on the one from Yokohama FC for Mito's 3rd leg in the Sahara Cup.
The loss by 4 points seems like a major improvement compared to the 10 point loss of the first meeting, and a few players showed flashes of professional brilliance. Still, there is no doubt that the Yokohama FC youth are bigger, faster, and more technically coached.
It was a good time, in any case, and I was able to see Mito's sumo venue for the first time.
